Peters, Danckwart power W-K to victory

Mindy Peters and Amber Danckwart supplied most of the power Thursday night as Wabasha-Kellogg rolled past Goodhue 15-2, 15-9, 15-7 in Three Rivers Conference volleyball.

The Falcons got 11 kills from Peters, and 10 kills and six blocks from Danckwart. Jody Balow had six digs for W-K, which improved to 2-0 with its second conference win.

For Goodhue, Marna Hadler had seven kills, Michelle Roschen was 9-for-9 serving with two aces, and Briana Gadient added three digs. Katie Holm was 15-for-18 passing. Goodhue is 1-2, 0-2 in the TRC.

THREE RIVERS CONFERENCE

Caledonia 3, Southland 0

Caledonia had 11 team ace serves and flew past Southland in Caledonia.

Ashley Bearbower totaled 14 set assists, Tasha Meyer had six digs and eight kills, Sarah Doty had three block kills and five kills and Trisha Ingvalson had four block kills. Southland was paced by Allison Chapek with four set assists and two digs.

Nicole Lange and Kaiya Easler were each 14-for-15 serving as Chatfield won at home in three straight. Amanda Meyer had 19 set assists, while Whitney Finseth had six kills, and Jessie Kesler had five. Dana Lurken had six blocks.

Rushford-Peterson 3, Plainview 1

After splitting the first two matches, Rushford-Peterson got things rolling and downed Plainview.

For R-P, Ashley Owens had 22 set assists, Abby Ingram had nine kills, Hali Richardson had eight kills and three ace blocks. Leah Rislove added 18 digs and 19 service points.

Plainvew's Sarah Richardson had 13 digs and 10 kills. Emilee Hoekstra contributed nine digs and 15 assists and Tina Wohlers had five kills. It was the second straight win for R-P.

Kingsland 3, Lewiston-Altura 2

Steph Hebrink dished out 20 assists, and Megan Montgomery handed out 15 to lead the Knights past the Cardinals in five games. Also for Kingsland, Savannah Oeltjen hammered out 19 kills.

Noelle Hall led the LA attack with 14 kills, four blocks and 17 digs. Kelsa Hovelson had 16 assists to go with 16 service points, while Jessica Weins led LA in assists with 18. Trisha Peterson and Justina Walch contributed 20 and 14 digs, respectively.

Mandy Jo Whalen had six ace serves, 13 digs and 18 serving points to guide Fillmore Central in Dover. Heidi Harstad added 10 kills and Kim Milne had eight kills.

D-E got eight kills from Kelsey Erickson, 13 ace serves from Teresa Meiners and 11 assists from Jill Deets.

St. Charles is 2-0 after an easy non-conference win over visiting Winona Cotter. The Saints had a balanced attack. Morgan Kraut led with eight kills, and Amanda Ellson and Brenda Dabelstein had five each. Dabelstein and Ellson were a combined 30-of-31 serving, with nine aces. Dabelstein, a junior, also led with 13 set assists.

Alex Andrews had 10 serving points, eight kills, two ace seves and six digs for Triton. Katie Selthun had five kills and five digs, Krista Van Zuillen had five kills, and Alyson Jensch had 10 set assists in Triton.

Tatan Jackson was 14-of-14 serving, with an ace, and Shelby Hyllengren was 13-of-13 with two aces to lead the Bombers past Randolph in Cannon Falls. Jill Klegin had seven digs, Megan Murphy and Ashlan Carnel each had three blocks. Murphy also had five kills.

Megan Wendorff hammered down 28 kills, along with six ace blocks, to lead the Knights past the Blue Jays in a non-conference match Thursday. Kristina Lurken added eight kills, Val Berquam had 41 set assists, and Rachael Mortensen was 26-28 from the service line in helping KW sweep.

KW (1-0) will play host to Rochester John Marshall on Tuesday. Waseca fell to 1-1 overall.

Lanesboro 3, Grand Meadow 1

Alesha Sveen had 11 serving points for Lanesboro. Alysha Olson had eight kills and Mikala Klotz had two ace assists in Grand Meadow.

Grand Meadow was paced by Kelli Petzel with eight kills. Nickole Stier had seven kills, and Sarah Holm added 11 ace assists.

Brittany Pierce had 33 set assists to lead the Cougars past the Cardinals in LeRoy. MC (2-0) also got 11 kills from Karlia Urbaniak, five kills and three ace blocks from Nicole Wilder, and five kills from Tessa Newman.

"They are an excellent, excellent team," said LO coach Ron Prigge. LO (1-1) hosts Grand Meadow on Tuesday.

The visiting Lions overcame a slow start to win the final three games of the match. After the opening-game loss, Spring Grove used strong play at the net to turn the tide.

For Spring Grove (2-0, 2-0 SEC) it was Kelsey Anderson leading the way with 14 kills. Jenny Schieber added nine kills and Erin Wiste had six. Bethany Morken made the offense go with 26 set assists.

L/P (0-2, 0-2SEC) was led by Kristina Hollerud with 12 kills, while Taryn Emery had 10 kills and an ace block.
