Kimi Petersen, a 5-foot-8 senior, turned in her best scoring performance of the season to lead Hayfield over Fillmore Central 51-42 in a non-conference girls basketball game Saturday.
Hayfield is now 2-17 overall; Fillmore Central is 8-10.
Petersen, who alternates between point guard and forward, scored 18 points. She had been averaging fewer than 10 points a game.
Molly McCamy, a 5-6 senior, scored 14 points.
"(McCamy) was all over the place, too," said Hayfield coach Anne Christopherson.

Hayfield started using a full-court press in the second quarter, forcing a series of turnovers. The Vikings took over the lead in the second quarter.
