LANESBORO — The funeral for Phyllis Dorraine Erickson will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, with the Rev. Kerry Eversole officiating. Burial will be in Lanesboro Cemetery.
Mrs. Erickson, 85, of Lanesboro, died Thursday (Nov. 6, 2008) at Harmony Healthcare, where she resided for four years.
Phyllis Quarstad was born June 15, 1923, in Rushford to Arnold (Shorty) and Evelyn (Skrukrud) Quarstad. She went to school in Rushford from 1929 until 1934 and graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1941. On Dec. 24, 1946, she married Leroy Erickson in Rochester.
Mrs. Erickson worked at several places: She worked for the Lanesboro Grain Elevator for 55 years, in Dr. R.B. Johnson’s office for 10 years, the Minnesota Volunteer Firemen Benefit Association for 27 years and Grandma’s Trail Inn for 10 years.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a Sunday school teacher, was involved in church choir and was a ladies aid member. Mrs. Erickson was a lifetime member and a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, a past president and a member of Lanesboro Golf Course and Lanesboro Golf Course champion for a year. She was also a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader.

She is survived by three sons, Phillip (Linda Bjorkman) Erickson of Hastings, Minn., Gregory (Kay) Erickson of Rochester, Scott Erickson of Menahga, Minn.; a daughter, Dianne Erickson (Lois Pettinger) of Ashland, Ore.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Levi and Seri; four sisters, Eileen (Duane) Boyum of Kasson, Patricia (Dick) Hauser of Long Beach, Calif., Sandra (Rich) Redalen of Chandler, Ariz., and Judy (Mike) Shanahan of Chisago City, Minn.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; three sons; and a brother.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro and one hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
