Phyllis F. Kingsley — Rochester

ROCHESTER — The funeral for Phyllis F. Kingsley will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, with the Rev. Ronald Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Kingsley, 81, of Rochester, died Sunday (Nov. 9, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Phyllis Faye Kreager was born May 3, 1927, in Dodge Center. She married Gerald Kingsley on Feb. 1, 1948, in Dodge Center. She was a homemaker and later worked in the Rochester school system’s food services for 20 years. Her husband was a Rochester police officer for 30 years.

Mrs. Kingsley was a member of the Congregational Church U.C.C., and enjoyed cards and bingo, casinos, traveling, trips to the family farm and the Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Volden and Sharon Kingsley, both of Rochester; four sons, Daniel, Roger (Therese), George (Lori) and John (Jeannie), all of Rochester; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Kreager of Albert Lea; and two sisters, Donna Mae (Virgil) Moffit of Rochester and LeDean Strum of Moose Lake, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Scott and James; two sisters, Esther Minehine and Wilhelmina Roberts; and a brother, Kenneth.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, and an hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Congregational Church U.C.C. or the Senior Citizens Center.
