Phyllis T. Buchholtz -- Stewartville

STEWARTVILLE -- The funeral for Phyllis T. Buchholtz will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Racine United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Victoria Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Sumner Millet Cemetery in rural Racine.

Mrs. Buchholtz, 79, of 110 Fourth St. N.E., No. 110, Stewartville, a retired Saint Marys Hospital employee, died Saturday (July 5, 2003) at Stewartville Care Center of complications of a stroke suffered Friday. She had lived at the care center the past five months.

Phyllis T. Holman was born May 23, 1924, in Hatton, N.D., grew up there and graduated from Hatton High School. She was a switchboard operator for Northwestern Bell in Grand Forks, N.D., until transferring to the Rochester office in 1950. She was a telephone operator at Rochester State Hospital from 1960 to 1967, then at Saint Marys Hospital until her retirement in 1981 and continued part time at Saint Marys for another 15 years. On June 21, 1953, she married Lyle Buchholtz at Sumner Center United Methodist Church in rural Racine. She was a longtime member of Sumner Center United Methodist Church and the Stewartville Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until 11 a.m. Wednesday at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville and an hour before the service at the church.
