Pickups used in Slatterly Park vandalism

Post-Bulletin, Rochester MN

A person who lives near Slatterly Park in southeast Rochester called police about 5:30 a.m. Saturday after seeing two vehicles being driven through the park and crashing into things.

The caller said two pickups had been driven into a fence around the ball diamond, into the backstop at the tennis court, and into garbage cans. The trucks were gone when police arrived, but one was found not far away, upright and running, in Bear Creek, north of Sixth Street and Ninth Avenue Southeast.

Officers traced the pickup to Pulver’s Motor Services and learned that it was one of two stolen from the business overnight.

Police Capt. Brian Winters said the second truck was found abandoned in the 3000 block of 20th Avenue Southeast.
