PRESCOTT, Wis. -- Pine Island came up empty in a four-team baseball tournament Saturday against teams ranked in the top five in their class in Wisconsin.
Westby, Wis., handed the Panthers a 15-1 loss in the first game. Then Park Falls, Wis., stopped Pine Island 10-6.
Prescott, which reached the American Legion state tournament in Wisconsin and is one of the ranked teams, won the tournament.
Pine Island's Mike Regnier allowed just one run in three innings in the first game, but Westby jumped on Panthers' relief pitchers later and took advantage of some fielding errors.
Pine Island (0-4) fought back from an 8-2 deficit against Park Falls in the late innings. Justin Hollar and Brad Swanson both got three hits for Pine Island. Swanson drove in three runs, and Hollar got a double.

Cannon Falls starter Dylan Lager "was masterful," according to coach Bucky Lindow, as he struck out 10 and walked none while giving up just two hits in six innings pitched. Clint Sjoquist struck out two in pitching a perfect seventh. Goodhue's Brett Voth gave up only four hits and three walks, but two of the three runs against him were unearned as the Wildcats made five errors. Cody Lopez and Jason Helgren doubled for the Bombers.
