From staff reports
Rochester police were called to Crossroads Shopping Center Thursday afternoon on a report that two children were in a car without an adult.
Capt. Jim Pittenger said that before officers arrived, an adult woman came out of a store, got in the car and drove away. The person calling in the report, however, got the license number of the vehicle and Pittenger said officers will be calling to follow up on the complaint.
Pittenger said it is not known how long the children were left alone. He said one child was described as about 5 and the other an infant. The person calling police said the windows on the car were rolled up.
