Police investigate stolen-car reports

Rochester police are investigating reports of five vehicles stolen during the weekend.

The thefts occurred in different parts of the city and don't appear to be related, according to Capt. Jim Pittenger. The vehicles were taken from the 3800 block of 10th Avenue Southwest, the 1100 block of 41st Street Northwest, the 500 block of 12th Street Northwest and the 800 block of 21st Avenue Southeast. Another vehicle was taken from the Country Club Manor neighborhood.

Pittenger said one of the vehicles was recovered at 4:50 a.m. Sunday after an accident along Bamber Valley Road. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and taken to Saint Marys Hospital. The driver's name and condition were not available this morning.

Another vehicle reported stolen from Blue Earth County was recovered Sunday in the 3700 block of Willow Heights Drive Southwest, Rochester.
