Police Capt. Brian Winters said a Rochester resident reported a burglary in the 1700 block of West Center Street that occurred the afternoon of April 22. Entry was made through the back door.

About 10 vintage handguns were stolen, Winters said.

About 5 p.m. Friday, a 15-year-old boy was brought to the juvenile detention center by a family member on an unrelated apprehension order, and authorities found an unloaded handgun in his possession, Winters said. The gun matched the description of one taken in the burglary.

The teen told police someone gave him the gun, and he gave them the address where he received it, which was near the burglarized house.

Police eventually recovered all of the stolen guns, Winters said.
