ROCHESTER — The Austin American Legion baseball team put an end to the season for the Rochester Eagles season on Sunday afternoon in a Division I First District tournament play-in game at Hudson Field.
Austin Post 91, the No. 9 seed in the tournament, defeated the eighth-seeded Eagles by a 5-4 score in the nine-inning game.
Austin pitcher Adam Hemann threw a complete game and went 3-for-5 at the plate, with two runs scored.
Eagles pitcher Ricky Devorak was the tough-luck loser. He pitched seven innings and didn’t allow an earned run, but the Eagles committed four errors.

Austin (7-18) will take on the top-seeded Rochester A’s (20-12 overall, 14-3 First District) in the double-elimination part of the Division I First District tournament on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Century High School.
