Fraud and Scam Awareness program will be presented by the Crime Unit of the Rochester Police Department at 7 p.m. in room 201 at Northrop Community Services Center, 201 Eighth St. N.W. No fee, but register with Rochester Community Education at 285-8646.

Weds Feb. 6

SeniorNet Computer Class registration from 9 a.m. to noon at the Rochester Senior Center, 121 N. Broadway. Information: 287-7154.

Thurs Feb. 7

Rochester Senior Center dance from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the center, 121 N. Broadway. Cactus &; Friends is the band. Admission: $3.50.

Rochester Community Education will offer a program on "How Can You Recreate Your Paycheck Once You're Retired?" at 7 p.m. in room 233 at John Adams Middle School. Fee is $6 or $3 for senior citizens. Register at 285-8646.

Fri Feb. 8

John Marshall senior party committee is planning an Adult Winter Dance Party from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Eagles Club in Rochester. Cost: $10 donation. Tickets may be purchased at the door or call Roger Ring at 282-8632. There will be door prizes and all adults are welcome to dance to 1950s, '60s and '70s rock 'n' roll. This is a fund-raiser for the JM senior party.

SAT Feb. 9

Grandparents Day will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Goodhue County Historical Society in Red Wing. Guides will help interpret exhibits for children and their grandparents. Learning stations will provide activities. Participants can experience what a rural school was like, put together a valentine card using artistic methods from the 1890s or try your hand at fun that predates video games. The Vietnamese New Year will be celebrated from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Mayo High School Auditorium. The observance includes a lion dance and martial arts show, children's activities and recognition of elderly members of the Vietnamese community. Free.

MOn Feb. 11

AARP Hiawatha Chapter 766 meets for lunch at noon at Peace United Church in Rochester. The chiefs of the police and fire departments will speak on scams and terrorists, and Ron Deno and the Button Box Band will perform. Reservations required by Thursday: 288-5153.
