When Tim Groby made his proposal to Jennie Klein, he decided to say it with roses. Several dozen roses, in fact.
It was March 6, 2008, "which also happened to be the three-and-a-half year anniversary of our first date," Tim said. "Which was not a coincidence."
Jennie had to work late that day, which gave Tim plenty of time to get things ready. "When I got home, he had set up the most romantic thing I have seen," Jennie said.

Inside the door was a dozen roses in a vase. Attached was a note that said each rose represented one month of their first year together, then went on to talk about their first year together.
At the bottom of the staircase was another dozen roses and a second note, this one talking about their second year together. Soon Jennie found a third vase and note, and finally a final vase, containing six roses.
"With each note I reminded her of some of the good and bad times that we had together," Tim said, "and also reminded her that each of these times helped us to grow our love into what we have."
The note attached to the final vase declared that each rose represented a month of their fourth year together. "In this note he stated that he finally realized it was time and that he had never been happier and he could never be more in love," Jennie said.
While Jennie was reading the note, Tim walked out of the bedroom with a single, pink rose (her favorite color), got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
"I was in shock and I didn’t respond right away," Jennie said, "so he said, ‘Well, will you?’ This was the first time in my life that I was speechless."
The couple will be married on June 13 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Shakopee.
"This church is very special to me because this is also the church where my parents got married, and I have always wanted to have a wonderful marriage like them," Jennie said.
