A crash on the snow and ice on U.S. Highway 52 sent a Rochester woman to the hospital Wednesday.

Dorothy Stuart Loutfi, 54, of Rochester was southbound on U.S. Highway 52 near Olmsted County Road 1 at about 8:41 a.m. Wednesday when her 2018 Subaru Forester left the roadway and collided with the median cable barrier. The Subaru then came back onto the road and collided with a 2013 Cadillac sedan driven by Thomas John Kraus, 61, of Owatonna. The Cadillac was also driving south on Highway 52, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

Kraus was not injured in the crash. Loutfi was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys with non-life threatening injuries. No update on her condition was available.

The Rochester police and fire departments also responded to the scene.
