A trailer and ATV that had been stolen from Fillmore County were recovered Monday in Olmsted County, thanks to a GPS device.

The trailer was reported stolen Monday morning from the area of 160th Avenue and Fillmore County Road 2 in Fillmore County, said Capt. Scott Behrns of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.

Using the trailer's GPS system, officers were able to trace the stolen items to a residence at 8436 Mechanic St. NW, northeast of Byron in Genoa, Behrns said. Boot prints from the site of the theft matched those found at the Mechanic Street address, he said.

In addition to finding the trailer and ATV, deputies also discovered 8.44 grams of methamphetamine at the site. Arrested at the residence was Todd Lee Walker, 54. He will be charged with possession of stolen property and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Walker allegedly told authorities he was given the meth in exchange for storing the stolen vehicles on his property, Behrns said.
