RED WING — A late-night collision between a car and a horse sent a Lake City woman to the hospital early Monday. 

Sharon Margaret Gnotke, 70, of Lake City was northbound on U.S. Highway 61 between Lake City and Red Wing at about 3:14 a.m. Monday when the 2000 Honda CRV she was driving struck a horse that was in the roadway, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

Gnotke was transported to Mayo Clinic Health in Red Wing with non-life threatening injuries. No update on her condition or the condition of the horse was available.

The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office and Red Wing EMS also responded to the scene.
