The disappearance of a Goodview woman last week during extreme cold temperatures was the result of a medical issue, according to the Goodview Police Chief.

Leigh Meska, 31, was reported missing on Jan. 30 after she failed to show up for work that day. Meska called her parents from Rockford, Ill., the following day and was back in Winona County by Friday morning.

Goodview Police Chief Kent Russell said Tuesday that Meska suffered a medical issue and for a period of time didn’t know where she was nor what was going on.

“She is working with her physician to figure out what happened and what she needs to do going forward,” Russell said.

The investigation into the incident is done and police consider the matter closed.
