A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning when he collided with a car pulling out from a driveway.
The crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. near the intersection of North Broadway Avenue and Northern Heights Drive Northeast. Rochester Police Lt. Mike Sadauskis said a Toyota Prius was pulling out from a driveway off of Broadway and did not see the motorcycle. The motorcycle, driven by an adult male, hit the vehicle. The motorcycle the man was driving was not his, Sadauskis said.
The man's identity was not released Wednesday afternoon as police had not yet spoken to his family. He was not wearing a helmet.
The Rochester Police Department's Forensic Mapping Unit was sent to investigate. The Rochester Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance also responded. Emergency responders performed CPR on the motorcyclist for about 10 minutes in an effort to revive the man.
Sadauskis said it was too early to know if the driver of the Prius, an adult female, would be charged in the crash. She was cooperative with police.
