OLMSTED COUNTY — Four businesses in Byron are among nine that sold alcohol to underage buyers, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.

Members of the sheriff's office completed 30 alcohol sales compliance checks on Sept. 4. During the compliance checks, nine businesses were caught selling alcohol to buyers younger than 21.

Those businesses were: Kwik Spirits Liquor, Frank N'Stein Bar, The Titled Tavern, Somberby Golf Course, all in Byron; Buddy's Liquor in Eyota, Neighbor's Bar and Pub in Dover, Shar's country Palace in Marion Township and Kwik Trip North and Strikers Lounge in Stewartville.

The bartenders/sales clerks could face a gross misdemeanor charge of furnishing liquor to a person under age 21. The age of the sellers ranged from 24 to 60.
