The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office is investigating a pile of stolen tools discovered after a property owner noticed something suspicious on private security cameras.

A 42-year-old man called law enforcement Friday morning to the 3500 block of Hadley Valley Road Northeast in Haverhill Township after seeing a red Chevy four-door pickup truck on his property via surveillance footage, Capt. Scott Behrns said.

The property owner told deputies the man may have been carrying a drill in his hand.

When deputies arrived, they did not find the person but instead found a pile of tools valued around $2,000. Behrns said the tools were reported stolen from a construction site in the 2900 block of Cassidy Drive Northeast.
