PLAINVIEW — The city of Plainview has placed Police Chief Tim Schneider on leave.
Schneider has served as police chief in the Wabasha County town since 2011 and has worked for the Plainview Police Department since 1995. The statement notes the city has not taken any disciplinary action against Schneider since he has been employed with the city.
According to a statement from the city, Schneider was placed on paid leave after a complaint was filed against him. "The City is considering the appropriate course of action related to the complaint," the statement reads.
The statement notes that the city takes "all complaints about our employees seriously."
Due to data privacy laws, the city will not comment on the nature of the complaint, when it was made or what process it is taking to determine its course of action.
