A Stewartville man charged with assault and released from custody Tuesday afternoon was back in jail Tuesday night after allegedly violating a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order.

Rogers Robins Mochama, 28, was arrested at about 8:30 p.m Tuesday walking a few blocks away from the apartment complex were he allegedly threatened and assaulted a woman Sunday afternoon, said Capt. Scott Behrns, of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses reported seeing Mochama on Tuesday afternoon with the woman he allegedly assaulted on Sunday, Behrns said. When deputies arrived at the apartment complex in the 100 block of South Main Street in Stewartville, Mochama was not there. The woman was uncooperative and told deputies she had not seen Mochama, Behrns said.

Deputies found Mochama walking a few blocks away, and based on witness reports, arrested him for the alleged DANCO violation.

In the meantime, it was discovered the female victim has outstanding warrants from Ramsey County and she was transported to St. Paul, Behrns said.

Two children living in the apartment were turned over to a responsible party, Behrns said.

In connection with the alleged Sunday assault, Mochama is charged with felony threats of violence-reckless disregard, gross misdemeanor harassment with intent to injure, and misdemeanor domestic assault.
