All he came out with from a Casey’s General Store was a book of matches. However, a toy gun and a threatening comment resulted in robbery charges against a 61-year-old man Sunday morning.

According to Rochester police reports, Rodolfo Maldonado walked into the Casey’s General Store at 1907 Seventh St. NW at about 6:40 a.m. with a plastic toy gun in the waistband of his pants. He then asked an employees there for money but then said, “Just kidding, I’m drunk.” Maldonado then asked for a book of matches, which the employee provided, and left the store.

The employee called police, who then arrived to find Maldonado behind the store. He had a plastic toy gun that looked like a real gun. Maldonado was taken into custody at the scene for robbery.
