A 25-year-old Fountain woman and 1-year-old child were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after the car they were in reportedly rear-ended a snowplow.
Minnesota State Highway Patrol reports state Heidi Lynn Therkilsen, 25, of Fountain was northbound on U.S. Highway 52 near Broadway Avenue in Rochester at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when her 2011 Honda Civic collided with a plow clearing the right shoulder of the highway.
Therkilsen, along with her passenger, 1-year-old Steele Kurt Therkilsen of Fountain, were taken to Saint Marys Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The plow driver, Timothy John Boyum, 49, of Kenyon, was not injured, according to the state report.
Rochester Police and Mayo Clinic Ambulance assisted at the scene.
