Minnesota state patrol trooper police car

PINE ISLAND — Pine Island firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle rollover just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 52.

James Burton Hair, 70, of Rochester was driving a Toyota pickup northbound on Highway 52 at mile marker 74 in Roscoe Township, when he lost control of the truck. The vehicle went through the median and flipped into the southbound lane.

Road crews were working in the area during the time of the crash, and traffic had been reduced to one lane.

Both Burton and his passenger, Renee Mary Remsberg, 58, of Rochester, were transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital–Saint Marys for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
