WINONA — A Winona man was hospitalized after being stabbed early Monday morning. 

According to a statement from the Winona Police Department, officers and EMS personnel responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Ninth Street after receiving a call that a man had been stabbed. 

When responders arrived, they found a 19-year-old man with stab wounds. The victim was transported to Winona Health, then transferred to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys in Rochester. The report states he received multiple stab wounds. 

The suspect had fled from the scene before police arrived, but was later located at a residence in the 300 block of West Sixth Street. The suspect was taken into custody pending charges from the Winona County Attorney's Office. 

Terry Terrance, 21, was booked into the Winona County Jail on Monday pending felony assault-2nd degree with a dangerous weapon and substantial bodily harm.

The Goodview Police Department and Winona County Sheriff's Office also responded to the initial scene.
