Ralph P. Borgen -- Millville

MILLVILLE -- The funeral for Ralph P. Borgen will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Grace United Methodist Church in Millville, with the Rev. Doris Ruben officiating. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery.

Mr. Borgen, 62, of Machesney Park, Ill., formerly of Millville, died Thursday (Dec. 29, 2005) at his home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 19, 1943, in Chatfield and attended elementary schools in Chatfield and Wasioja. He graduated from Elgin-Millville High School in 1961. On July 17, 1965, he married LaDonna Adler in Millville. He spent 34 years working for Daimler Chrysler before retiring in 2000 and was a member of UAW 1268. He has spent the past 38 years in Machesney Park, Ill. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, fishing and playing pranks.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine (Andrew) Saladino of South Beloit, Ill.; two sons, Tim of Champaign, Ill., and Mike of Machesney Park, Ill.; three grandchildren; his parents, Raymond and Alice of Loves Park, Ill.; two brothers, Glen (Barbara) of Elgin and James of Belvidere, Ill. He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Delehanty Funeral Home in Loves Park, Ill, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schleicher Funeral Homes -- Plainview Chapel in Plainview and an hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
