Raymond Engh Gullickson -- Austin

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Raymond Engh Gullickson will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Robert Flood officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, with military rites by American Legion Post 91.

Mr. Gullickson, 78, of Austin, a retired Hormel Foods Corp. employee, died Wednesday (July 23, 2003) at Austin Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Spring Valley, lived there until 1943 and lived in Minneapolis from 1946 to 1950. On Sept. 16, 1950, he married Dorothy Gene Andersen in Pillager, Minn., and they made their home in Austin. Mr. Gullickson was a mechanical engineer at Hormel in Austin until 1966, then transferred to Fort Dodge, Iowa, and returned to Austin in 1973. He retired in 1986. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post No. 91, University of Minnesota Alumni Association, Habitat for Humanity, Masonic Lodge, Golden K Kiwanis Club and 96th Infantry Division Association.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol (Jim) Altergott of Wichita, Kan., and Joan Gullickson of Owatonna; a son, David of Minneapolis; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and an infant son.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and an hour before the service Monday at the church
