RCTC finishes 4th at Itasca

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. -- The Rochester Community and Technical College volleyball team finished fourth Saturday in the Itasca Community College tournament.

RCTC fell to Northland 30-22, 34-32 in the third-place match. In pool play, RCTC lost to Vermilion 26-30, 30-27, 15-12 and Lake Region 30-20, 28-30, 15-12. Also in pool play, it beat Itasca 30-19, 30-19 and Northland 17-30, 30-23, 15-12.

The Yellowjackets were led by Ann Tebbe and Lauran Weness with kill percentages of .185. They also got 39 serving points and 10 blocks out of Weness, 38 digs from Meliane Bartsch and eight service aces from Shawn Flicek.

RCTC plays at Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday.
