OAKDALE, Minn. — Rochester Community and Technical College finished with a phenomenal score in men’s golf Saturday, and it carried the Yellowjackets to a first-place finish in a five-team meet at Oak Marsh Golf Course.
The Yellowjackets teamed up for a 286. Second place Saturday was a 295 by Central Lakes. The 286 was the best score in the five years that Brian LaPlante has coached the Yellowjackets.
"That score was crazy good," LaPlante said. "This team has a chance to really do some things."
The 286 was just 6-over-par. Jake Dewitz, a sophomore from Osseo, Wis., led RCTC with a meet-medalist 68. RCTC also got a 71 from Scott Brinks (South Haven, Mich.), a 72 from Chris Myhro (Rochester), a 75 from Ben Kline (Faribault) and a 79 from Louis Rownd (Rochester).
