RCTC places fifth at golf invitational

The Rochester Community and Technical College men's golf team wrapped up play at the two-day, 36-hole Central Lakes Invitational Monday. RCTC finished fifth in the team standings; Tyler Anderson was sixth in the final individual standings.

Hibbing Community College won the meet, which was at The Legacy Golf Course in Brainerd. Twelve teams competed.

The Yellowjackets accumulated a team score of 662, which was four strokes behind fourth-place Minneapolis Community College and 20 strokes behind Hibbing. Anderson, meanwhile, carded a 161, better than all but five golfers in the field of 53.

On the women's side, Amy Whitworth was the top RCTC golfer. She shot a two-day total of 263 to finish 12th.
