WORTHINGTON — Rochester Community and Technical College defeated Minnesota West in five games Wednesday night to raise its record to 10-1.

It was the first conference match of the season for the Yellowjackets. Scores were 25-20, 20-25, 22-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Bobbie Meier (Burnsville) led Rochester in kills with 20.

Mayo graduate Darci Heikes led in service aces with four, and had 47 set assists.

Vanessa Lawrenz led in digs with 17, and Kylie Dykes led in solo blocks with 2.

"We started the match not at our peak, struggling on serve-receives, which resulted in difficulty with getting our offense running," said RCTC coach Carolyn Bell. "But by the third and fourth games, we were able to get some accurate passing, and were able to run our middle offense."
