RCTC women have shot at state bid

The Yellowjacket trailed by four at halftime but outscored Ridgewater 45-26 in the second half.

"It was a tremendous defensive effort," Meister said, adding "(Michelle) Melquist really came out of her shell and dominated underneath, and Holly Kasten had an awesome game."

Melquist hit 11 of 19 shots and finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds and four steals. Kasten had 12 points and eight rebounds. Jenni Fisher was held to nine points but had 10 assists.

RCTC outrebounded Ridgewater 40-29, had 15 steals and forced 29 Ridgewater turnovers.
