Mrs. Schleicher
AUSTIN -- Rebecca M. Schleicher, 86, of Austin, died Tuesday (Dec. 20, 2005) at St. Mark's Lutheran Home.
Rebecca Kraft was born Dec. 8, 1919, in Elkton, where she grew up. She married Gifford Schleicher on Nov. 26, 1936, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Elkton, and they made their home in Austin. She worked at Tradehome Shoes and at Pako Film Shop and enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and playing cards.
Survivors include a daughter, Alvis (John) Houston of Remer, Minn.; a son, Tom (Nancy) of Perry, Iowa; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosena Nelson of Grand Meadow. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
