MABEL: Steam Engine Days mark 55th year
The 56th annual Hesper-Mabel Steam Engine Days will be Sept. 5-7 at the Steam Engine Grounds in Mabel.
This is the oldest steam-engine show in the state. In addition to old steam engines working, it includes sporting events, a craft show, a skid loader derby, an antique show, a parade, food, dances and an Old West show.

DODGE COUNTY: Sheriff’s office to get laser radar

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office will be awarded a laser radar from the Department of Public Safety for participating in a seat-belt mobilization effort in May.
The event will take place at 11 a.m. Sept. 6 at the Dodge County Annex in Meeting Room A.
WINONA: Healthy Kids Club for ages 6-11
The kickoff for the Healthy Kids Club will be from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 27 at Winona Middle School.
The program for children ages 6 through 11 is part of a program of Winona Health. The event is free, but children must be accompanied by adults.
