Rep opens with musical ‘Homecoming’

A new season of plays at the Rochester Repertory Theatre opens with "Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming," a musical about the Sanders Family gospel group, Sept. 14 through Oct. 6.

This year’s holiday production will be the comedy "Comfort and Joy" by Jack Heifner, which runs Nov. 16 through Dec. 8.

The 2007-2008 theater season continues with "Terra Nova," a drama by Ted Tally, Jan. 18 through Feb. 2; the drama "Two Rooms," Feb. 29 through March 15; and "Finding Claire," a comedy May 2-24.

Season tickets are $65, $60 for seniors and students. If purchased by Saturday, season tickets include two bonus ticket coupons.

Season tickets purchased between Sunday and June 30 will include one bonus ticket coupon.


Bonus ticket coupons can be used at any production in the 2007-2008 season, including the Rep’s summer comedy, "Superior Pirates."

Season ticket sales continue through the closing performance of "Smoke on the Mountain Reunion," Oct. 6. Thursday-only memberships are also available for $50.

Individual ticket prices are $18 for "Smoke on the Mountain Reunion."

For all other shows, tickets are $17, $16 for students and seniors, $11 for students and seniors on Thursdays.
