Residents to pick name of interchange

Associated Press

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Residents in central Minnesota are being invited to help name a new interchange of Interstate 94 that's expected to take on gateway status to St. Cloud.

The interchange will be built next year where I-94 meets Stearns County Road 75.

The county will hold a contest to name the interchange, in part because the Minnesota Department of Transportation didn't want another freeway exit sign listing Stearns County Road 75.

Residents can mail their suggestions or submit them via the county's Web site. People then will have the chance to vote on their favorite names, said Janet Midas, county information specialist. Stearns County and St. Cloud representatives will make the final decision.
