Lack of an offensive attack led to a sixth straight loss for the Austin River Dawgs amateur baseball team on Wednesday night at Seltz Field.
The visiting Owatonna Aces, fresh off an appearance last weekend in the championship game of the Spamtown Challenge Tournament, blasted the River Dawgs 9-0 in the district game.
Derek Eddie of Owatonna pitched a five-hit shutout against the Dawgs. Eddie struck out 16 with only two walks in the lopsided win.
The victory keeps Owatonna (15-9 overall) undefeated in district play. Dylan McGaheran led the Aces’ offensive attack with three hits.

Austin River Dawgs (4-9) are next scheduled to play the Austin Athletics in a Class C game on Saturday night at Marcusen Park. There is also the possibility that the River Dawgs might take the place of the Athletics on Friday night and play a game against the Austin Blue Sox at Seltz Field.
