Riverland rescheduling games

Getting the baseball and softball seasons rolling has been a difficult task this spring for Riverland athletic director Dave Lillemon.

The Riverland baseball team has yet to play a home game and also hasn’t been able to start the Minnesota Community College Conference, South Division schedule. The Blue Devils hope to play at Dick Seltz Field early next week.

Pillsbury Baptist College from Owatonna is now scheduled to play Riverland in a doubleheader on Monday at Seltz Field. The start time of the non-conference twinbill is scheduled for 2 p.m. The division opener at Ridgewater has now been moved to Tuesday afternoon for Riverland baseball.

Lillemon also coaches the Riverland softball team and after a good start with six games played, the Lady Devils have had to reschedule over the last week.

The division doubleheader at home against Fergus Falls has been moved to Wednesday afternoon at the college field in Austin.

There was also supposed to be another division doubleheader this past week against Ridgewater and that has now been rescheduled for 3 p.m. April 16.
