ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Robert A. Beeman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, with the Rev. John Schleicher officiating. There will a spring burial in Pickwick Cemetery, Pickwick, Minn.
Mr. Beeman, 77, of Rochester, died Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2005) at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
He was born March 12, 1927, in Winona and grew up and graduated from high school there. From 1945 to 1947 he served in the Navy. On Sept. 24, 1955, he married Doris Henderson in Ridgeway, Minn. Mr. Beeman was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Winona for 39 years. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Winona VFW Post 1287 and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and wintering in Florida.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steven of Winona and Robert (Kristi) of Rochester; three daughters, Kathleen (Charles) Nagle of Winona, Vicki (Jeff) Smuda of Edgerton, Wis., and Sherri Carstens of Lumberton, Texas; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, LaVonne (Pat) Cumiskey of Winona; and two brothers, Ray (Gwen) of Helena, Mont., and Don (Juanita) of Minnesota City.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
