Robert C. Jante — Blooming Prairie

BLOOMING PRAIRIE — Robert C. Jante, 78, a longtime farmer of Blooming Prairie, died Wednesday (Sept. 3, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Robert Carl Jante was born July 16, 1930, in Garner, Iowa. He served in the Air Force for four years. While in the service, he married Lorraine Spinler on Nov. 4, 1953. They made their home in Blooming Prairie, where Mr. Jante farmed most of his life.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Roberta (Ray) Williams of Arizona City, Ariz., and Lori (Jeff) Trotman of Rochester; and a sister, Ernestine Rand of Owatonna. Other survivors include four granddaughters, Jennie, Kellie, Jessica and Rachel; and a great-granddaughter, Lillie.

Visitation for Mr. Jante will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna.

Private family services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie; the Rev. Paul Nelson will officiate. Interment will be in Owatonna Memorial Gardens.


Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church of Blooming Prairie or a charity of the donor’s choice.
