Robert E. Boe — Cannon Falls

CANNON FALLS — The funeral for Robert E. Boe will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Vasa Lutheran Church, between Cannon Falls and Red Wing; the Rev. Michael Dobbins will officiate. Interment, with military honors, will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Boe, 67, of Vasa, died Friday (Nov. 30, 2007) following an 11-year illness with cancer. Recently, he had been receiving care at the Margaret S. Parmly Residence in Chisago City, Minn.

Robert Elwood Boe was born June 6, 1940, in Dawson, Minn. He graduated from Dawson High School in 1958 and went on to serve in the Air Force during the Vietnam era. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to work for American Fruit and Produce in Eagan, Minn. On Oct. 9, 1971, he married Dora K. Hetletvedt in West Concord. During the 1970s and 80s, Mr. Boe was manager of American Legion Post 54 in Red Wing. He later worked for Treasure Island Resort & Casino near Red Wing as the food and beverage comptroller until retiring because of his illness.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott of Vasa; a daughter, Heather (Kris) Scott of Harris, Minn.; three grandsons; a sister, Marcella (Lewis) Beck of New Hope, Minn.; and four brothers, Lloyd (Virginia) of St. Louis Park, Minn., Marvin (Donna) of Bemidji, Minn., Donald of Dawson and Curtis of Charlotte, N.C.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.


The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society.
