Robert H. Graves -- Winona

WINONA -- The funeral for Robert H. Graves will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Martin-Myhre Funeral Chapel in Winona, with the Rev. James Nelson officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mr. Graves, 87, a longtime resident of Winona, died Tuesday (Jan. 31, 2006) at Sauer Memorial Home.

Born July 19, 1918, in Winona, he graduated from Winona Senior High School. He married Grace M. Schultz on July 23, 1941, in Winona; she preceded him in death on April 26, 1990. He worked as the caretaker on the E.L. King Estate for 21 years. He also worked in maintenance and retired from the Holiday Inn in Winona. He was a furniture refinisher for 34 years; enjoyed gardening and fishing; and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1243 in Winona and St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Farmington, Minn., and James (Karen) of Winona; two daughters, Susan (Ken) Baker of Oronoco and Nancy (Steve) Anderson of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
