Robert W. Wangen — Fountain
FOUNTAIN — A memorial service for Robert W. Wangen, 58, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fountain Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Forde officiating.
Robert Wayne Wangen, of Fountain, died Sunday (Nov. 9, 2008) at his home.
Born Sept. 19, 1950, in Lanesboro, he graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1968. He then attended Winona Vo-Tech for mechanic’s training. On May 22, 1976, he married Rhonda Peterson in Lanesboro.
Mr. Wangen was the owner and operator of Preston Liquor Store. He enjoyed fishing, gensing hunting, motorcycles and snowmobiles.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Chad (Jami) of Fountain; a daughter, Wendy (Brian) Schomaker of Mazeppa; three sisters, Pat (Lamont) Meyer of Rochester, Judy McBride of Eagan, Minn., and Cindy (Joe) Sutherland of Oronoco. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Darian, Brett and Alyx. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Averlene (Larson) Wangen; a brother, Roger; and a sister, Mary Hoffman.
Visitation will be an hour before the service at Fountain Lutheran Church.
Mr. Wangen was a donor to the American Donor Services Inc.
