Misdemeanor and felony assault charges have been filed against a Rochester man accused of assaulting another man with brass knuckles.

Alan Lee Osborn, 27, 305 10th St. S.E. No. 6, is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony; misdemeanor fifth-degree assault; and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Unconditional bail is set at $10,000 and conditional bail at $500. He returns to court Dec. 4.

The complaint says that an officer was flagged down about 7:50 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Kwik Trip on Third Avenue southeast by a man who said he had been assaulted. The man was bleeding from his head, and said Osborn hit him in the head. The assault allegedly occurred at Osborn’s residence.

Officers went to Osborn’s residence, where Osborn appeared to be intoxicated. Officers saw two pairs of brass knuckles in plain view. One pair had blood on them. Osborn admitted to being in a fight with the 23-year-old male victim.

The victim told officers he had gone to Osborn’s residence with another person. He said Osborn told him to leave. The victim said he was concerned about the safety of the other person, and said Osborn began threatening him.

The victim said that he turned to go and Osborn pushed him from behind, that he then turned around and saw that Osborn was wearing the brass knuckles. The victim said he put Osborn in a headlock and took him to the floor. The victim told the other person, a female, to get away. Osborn then hit the victim in the back of the head, the complaint says.
