A 23-year-old Rochester man is hospitalized and in stable condition after he was stabbed in a dispute early today.
An assault in a parking lot at 320 31st St. N.E. was reported to Rochester police shortly after midnight.
Witnesses said the dispute began when the suspect, who re-mained at large this morning, spoke to a female acquaintance of the victim.

The suspect walked away after a brief argument with the victim, but moments later turned around, charged the victim and stabbed him, witnesses told police. Capt. Brian Winters said the stab wound was on the "lower half" of the victim’s body. The injury was not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspect is known to several of the witnesses.
Police were not able to speak to the victim at the scene "because of the extent of the injury," Winters said.
Both the victim and attacker were described only as Somali men.
