Rochester native pens choral composition

A choral composition by Erik Rohde, a Rochester native, will be presented by Boston Metro Opera in May at the Boston Music Festival.

The piece, "Sacramentum," was selected as a category winner in the opera's First Annual Contemporary AmericanaFest.

Rohde graduated from Century High School and holds a bachelor's degree in violin performance and a bachelor's in biomedical engineering, both from the University of Minnesota. He is co-conductor of the University of Minnesota Campus Orchestra, and as a violinist has performed extensively as both a soloist and chamber musician.
