Rochester police warn of sweepstakes scam

Rochester police are advising people to be alert for a suspicious letter they might be getting saying the recipient has won money in the ElMundo Spanish Sweepstakes.

A Rochester woman brought one such letter to police Thursday. It was from Madrid, Spain, and said the recipient had won $815,000, but first would have to fill out a form and send it to Spain.

Police say the letter is a scam.
