Forbes Magazine has listed Rochester sixth on its list of good small places to run a business and pursue a career.
Rochester received the rank because so many of its residents 25 and older have a bachelor's degree or higher. The relatively high number of residents with Ph.Ds and the city's low crime rate also put it high, according to the magazine.
Overall, the number of jobs here rose 3.5 percent over five years and income grew 4.9 percent.
Sioux Falls, S.D., ranked first followed by Iowa City, Iowa, Fayetteville, Ark., Lincoln, Neb., and Fargo, N.D. LaCrosse, Wis., was 22 nd on the list.
