ALEXANDRIA, Minn. -- The Rochester Spartans' bid for a state title came to an end Saturday with a 10-6 loss to Crystal in the VFW state baseball tournament.
Rochester also dropped its opener to Alexandria, 5-4.
Aaron Senne took the pitching loss against Crystal. He entered with a 7-0 record and a 1.4 ERA but had control problems against Crystal.
The Spartans narrowed the score to 6-4 in the fourth inning behind a triple by Brandon O'Reilly.
Rochester finished with 12 hits and committed three errors. Crystal had eight hits and no errors.
